AS FEATURED ON

" This book compiles and synthesizes primary and secondary literature with archaeological finds to develop an understanding of what the Norse Gods & Goddesses meant in men’s minds of ancient Scandinavia. "

Return to your roots...

This is the book that I wrote for my past self...

This book is what I needed back then.

It may be what you need now.

What did you need back then?

You needed connection, something to relate to and went searching for it in the history of your people.

But were met with a bombardment of sparse information, bastardized by the shallows of the internet, that could be more accurately described as individual extrapolations than concrete resources based on historical record.

Which sent you on a journey to uncover the truth and depth of the meaning held in men’s minds of ancient Scandinavia.

With information coming straight from the sources; Eddaic poetry, runic inscriptions, ancient architecture, weaponry, and carvings. Along with carefully discerned secondary sources like Tacitus, Ibn Fadlan, Saxo Grammaticus and Snorri Sturlusson. And much, much more.

You were able to uncover the truth of the ancient Scandinavian belief system and characterize a well-rounded prose designed specifically for the modern man’s frictionless understanding of this deep and rich history that had once seemed so ungraspable nor comprehensible.

This sheer variety of source and secondary material has been carefully organized and distilled into easily understood information with an attitude of absolute scrutiny for the modern man seeking to know the secrets of his ancestors.

Now the opportunity is here.

The doors have opened.

The Old Gods await you.

DIVE IN TO THE NINE REALMS

  • Chapters 1 – 8
You will learn everything there is to know about the Æsir tribe of deities, including popular figures like Óðinn, Þórr and Frigg but also the less prominent deities like Gefjon, Ullr and Hœnir. Using literary sources like the Poetic Edda and Skaldic poetry alongside archaeological finds and linguistic evidence, we build a strong image of Óðinn’s family.
  • Chapters 9 – 12
Part II consists of a lengthy discussion around the fertility deities of the Norse pantheon. Evidence is found in the Icelandic Sagas, person and place-name evidence, ship burials and more. You will learn from sources as old as 90 CE about the fertility cults of the ancient Germanic tribes.
  • Chapters 13 – 15
In Part III, you will learn about the integral importance that the natural world played in the pre-Christian beliefs of Scandinavia and how it was personified in multiple figures by the poets of the late Viking-Age and characterized as the Jotnar.
  • Chapter 16

Here we discuss the events of aldar rǫk… “end of the world” in Norse mythology and the cyclical nature of the cosmos.

Norse Gods & Goddesses

The Forgotten Legacy of Ancient Scandinavia...

“Very concise and well written in that it’s easy for an American, like me, with little experience to dive in exploring and learning about the Norse pantheon. Highly recommended.”
